In the past 7 years, intensively engaged as a senior manager, consultant, venture capital specialist, and a business development leader of green & smart energy innovation ecosystem, primarily in Israel. Over 10 years of experience in capital raising for cleantech innovators. Secured over 40 m $ from a variety of capital sources such as Strategic Investors (Alstom, GE etc), VC’s (Israel. US, EU), Angels, Governmental Grant programs (OCS, H2020 etc).

Over this 10-year period, he led the North American entity of Lifes2good to appear on the inc 500 fastest growing private companies in the US for four successive years.

The business developed a multi-channel sales and proprietary direct response marketing strategy. Mark has been an active Venture investor over the past 6 years, recently focusing on exponential technology in the cleantech space through his investment entity www.carbontoclean.com. He is also an active member of Hyde Park Angels group in Chicago and leads the Cleantech group within YPO. His educational background is in Accounting and Finance and Managing Company growth at the University’s of Limerick, Ireland and Stanford respectively.

Russell is an entrepreneur and venture capitalist with over 25 years of investing in cleantech and funding clean energy infrastructure. He is Chief Investment Officer at Sustainable Development Capital’s UK Energy Efficiency Fund. Russell is former chairman of EvoEnergy, a solar energy installer; led the cleantech venture fund at Nomura Bank; and was head of venture capital at The Carbon Trust.

He has advised several investment funds and has extensive experience as a board director for clean energy companies. Russell holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) from the University of Western Ontario and an M.B.A. from INSEAD.

The group is headquartered in Singapore. Carl started his career as a management consultant with Epistat, a technology transfer consultancy. He subsequently joined Orasure Technologies, a NASDAQ-listed biotech company. Here, Carl established distributor relationships in 18 countries. In 1997, Carl moved to Tokyo to setup Orasure’s joint venture in Japan.  In 1999, GE Capital recruited Carl as CEO for Dynafront, its fintech business in Malaysia and Singapore. In 2001, Carl established Incontech, a trading company exporting US consumer products to Asia. He successively founded other companies including Health On-line (mobile healthcare provider), Momenta Group (leadership development consultancy) and I.Investment (external asset manager and corporate advisory). Recently, Carl has invested in 3 technology startups, TeachnLearn (edutech), BankingON (fintech) and Dining Butler (foodtech). In addition to managing Sunstone, Carl is often engaged as a strategy consultant by MNCs, NGOs and government organizations to drive innovation and strategic leadership initiatives. Clients include UBS, Credit Suisse, Chinatrust, Singapore Tourism Board, Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore, Franklin Templeton, Standard Chartered Bank, HSBC, American Airlines, BASF and Leo Pharma. He also serves on the board of several non-profit organizations, including Church World Service and Family First Global. Carl has a masters in theology from the University of Northwestern – St. Paul, a bachelors from Lewis & Clark College and he is currently completing his doctorate in strategic leadership at Corban University. His hobbies include practicing Tae Kwon Do with his family, reading the Bible and playing musical instruments.
